  A seminar was held on January 30, 2012 on empowerment of women through education and emphasis was laid on law, accountancy and media / mass communication. The President welcomed the gathering.

Legal empowerment for women is the millennium goal. Law is required in every walk of life. We must know that compulsory registration of birth, marriage, death is required. Article 19, (right to life) also includes right to free legal aid and the right to wholesome environment.

Mrs. Tannaz Tarapore spoke on financial literacy saying that women now work in banks, financial institutions, and stock exchange and occupy high positions of financial management.

Prof. Gauri Chhabria spoke about the constitution and the importance of articles 14 and 15 on equality before the law and prohibition of discrimination on grounds of sex, caste, creed, etc.

Prof. Rohini Dandekar emphasized that education is based on book knowledge only. A change in the academic system is, therefore, required.

Ms. Purobi Ghosh Mohan spoke about 'Advertising and Communication – the rising phenomena'. Today, the Indian market is one of the faster growing corporate hubs of the world. Various multinational companies prefer Indian market for their rapid expansion. In the fast, lucrative and visible markets there has been constant growth in career opportunities.
